New Site!

Here's a heads-up! My daughter has recently updated our church website - and the ladies now have a new home within it. All the work is done and we are just waiting for all the technical stuff to fall into place so it is on-line (long, unpleasant story!!!). As soon as that is all done, I will close this blog and more Mary & Martha information to the church website. You can find it at firstbaptistnorthconway.org

See you there!

Meeting #3

Just a reminder, ladies. Our third meeting of the year is coming right up - Monday, March 14, 6:30pm at Irene's home. I hope you can come!
Our meeting begins with an extended amount of time to share both prayer requests and praises. This is always a blessed time for our group as a whole. After a time of group prayer we will read chapter 4 in Calm My Anxious Heart. Chapter 4 is entitled, "Content with my Role."
I would also ask you to be prepared to share what you have learned in your daily Bible study questions from the Book of Matthew in this past month. Perhaps highlighting a few things ahead would help you remember what you wanted to share with us. Of course, this sharing time could also be how God is working in your life in other areas as well. Our focus is especially on how Scripture is changing your life. Scripture alone is truth and life.
As always, we'll pass along a basket for offerings towards ladies' fellowships.
Can't wait to see you there!

A Great First Meeting!

God gave us a tremendous first meeting Monday. What a delight to stuff (and I do mean stuff!) 15 ladies into Irene's living room! We are so thankful to Irene and Warren for letting us descend on them.
As usually happens on the first meeting of a new year, some of our time was spent discussing the plans for the year ahead of us, but most of our time was spent sharing prayer requests and praises followed by reading Chapter 1 and 2 of Calm My Anxious Heart . We were all blessed and challenged in the area of true biblical contentment.
I think all the ladies felt especially touched by "Ella's prescription for contentment" (p. 13): -Never allow yourself to complain about anything, not even the weather; -Never picture yourself in any other circumstances or someplace else; -Never compare your lot with another's; -Never allow yourself to wish this or that had been otherwise; -Never dwell on tomorrow, remember that tomorrow is God's, not ours.
Our evening together ended with the singing of precious hymns of faith and assurance of God's goodness. What a blessing singing to the Lord is!
Those of you who couldn't make our meeting, there are folders with all the hand-outs waiting for you at church.

Have a blessed day in the Lord!
